Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all users of the Chipo platform — contributors, enterprise clients, and any other persons accessing or using the Services.

The purpose of this AUP is to:

• Protect dataset integrity: ensuring that all data on the Chipo platform is authentic, human-created, and consented, so that enterprise clients receive high-quality, rights-cleared datasets.
• Protect contributor safety: ensuring that contributors are treated fairly, that their rights are respected, and that the platform is free from harassment and exploitation.
• Maintain enterprise trust: ensuring that enterprise clients can rely on the platform to deliver compliant, legally sound data products.

This AUP is incorporated into the Terms of Service and supplements the Contributor Agreement (for contributors) and the applicable Order Form (for enterprise clients). Capitalised terms used here but not defined have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

Contributors must at all times:

• Submit only original work: all content submitted must be your own, original, human-created work. Submitting content created by or with the assistance of AI tools is a serious breach.
• No AI-generated content: content generated by text-to-speech, voice cloning, image generation, or language models is prohibited, regardless of how natural it appears.
• No third-party data without consent: do not submit content that captures the voice, likeness, or personal data of any third party unless that person has given explicit, informed consent to their data being submitted to Chipo for AI training.
• No minors: do not submit content that includes or depicts persons under 18 years of age.
• Accurate metadata: provide accurate and complete metadata (language, accent, environment, age group). Deliberately inaccurate metadata degrades dataset quality and constitutes fraud.
• One account only: maintain only one contributor account. Creating duplicate or alias accounts to circumvent suspensions, boost earnings, or game quality metrics is prohibited.
• Follow task instructions: complete tasks in accordance with the specific instructions provided. Do not attempt to substitute or modify task requirements.

Enterprise clients must at all times:

• Licensed purposes only: use datasets only for the purposes set out in the applicable Order Form and within the scope of contributor consent. Using datasets for purposes outside the licensed scope is a material breach.
• No redistribution without sub-licence: do not share, sell, redistribute, or provide access to datasets to any third party (including affiliates and contractors) without a written sub-licence agreement approved by Chipo.
• Respect consent scope: do not process datasets in a manner that exceeds the scope of the consent given by contributors. If you wish to expand the use case, contact us at legal@chipo.ai to arrange re-consent.
• No re-identification: do not attempt to re-identify any individual contributor from dataset content or metadata. This includes combining dataset fields with external data sources to infer contributor identity.
• Secure storage: store datasets with appropriate technical and organisational security measures, consistent with the obligations in the Data Processing Agreement.
• Confidential API keys: treat API keys as confidential credentials. Do not embed keys in public repositories, share them with unauthorised persons, or use them beyond their intended scope.

The following activities are prohibited for all users of the Chipo platform, regardless of role:

• Unauthorised access: attempting to access systems, accounts, datasets, or areas of the platform for which you do not have authorisation.
• Scraping: using automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract content or data from the platform.
• Reverse engineering: attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from any part of the Services or any dataset.
• Credential sharing: sharing your login credentials or API keys with any third party, or using another person's credentials to access the platform.
• Fraud: any attempt to deceive Chipo, other users, or enterprise clients, including fake submissions, inflated metrics, falsified identity documents, or misrepresentation of any kind.
• Security attacks: conducting or facilitating denial-of-service attacks, injecting malicious code, exploiting security vulnerabilities, or attempting to compromise the integrity of the platform or its data.
• Harassment: harassing, threatening, or intimidating Chipo staff, other contributors, or enterprise clients. This includes abusive communications via any channel.
• Illegal use: using the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including data protection, intellectual property, export control, and anti-money laundering laws.

Chipo enforces this AUP through a graduated response:

• Warning: for minor or first-time violations, we may issue a written warning and request remediation.
• Earnings hold: for violations that may affect the integrity of submitted data, we may place a hold on PENDING or AVAILABLE earnings pending investigation.
• Suspension: for more serious or repeated violations, we may suspend access to the platform temporarily. The duration of suspension will be communicated at the time of action.
• Termination: for serious violations (including fraud, AI-generated submissions, re-identification attempts, security attacks), we may permanently terminate the account and forfeit all earnings.
• Legal action: for violations that cause material harm to Chipo, contributors, or enterprise clients, we reserve the right to pursue civil or criminal legal remedies.

We will generally notify you of enforcement actions taken against your account, including the reason and any available appeal process. However, we may delay or withhold notification during an active investigation where notification would compromise that investigation.

Enforcement decisions may be appealed by contacting legal@chipo.ai within 30 days of the action.

If you become aware of a violation of this AUP by another user (contributor or enterprise), or if you suspect that the platform has been compromised, please report it to us:

In your report, please include:

• a description of the suspected violation;
• the approximate date and time;
• any supporting evidence (screenshots, URLs, task IDs); and
• your contact details if you are willing to assist with the investigation.

Confidentiality: your report will be treated as confidential. We will not disclose your identity to the subject of the report without your consent, except where required by law.

Investigation: all credible reports will be investigated promptly. We aim to acknowledge receipt within 2 business days and to provide an update within 14 business days. We will not necessarily be able to share the outcome of an investigation with the reporter, but we take all reports seriously.
